I started making comic books in 1995 after taking a class at Berkeley called, "The Graphic Novel as Literature." At the time I didn't even like comic books. I just thought it would make for an easy 4 units. But it turned out to be the best class I ever took! For our final project we got to make our own comic books. After penciling and inking Phillip's Head (in two days) I was hooked.
Over the following nine months, I penciled and inked 10 complete comic books, five of which came in at over 75 pages. At my height I was penciling 10 pages a day.
I have since slowed down to the point where I can spend an entire day on a single panel or two. I'm also trying to do more experiments with interactive comics these days. My recent comics have become more like paper sculptures witgh folding flaps, wheels, and tabs that you slide or follow through holes in the pages. For me comics are the funnest, fastest and cheapest narrative form. It is a form I hope to be working in for a long time.
Listed in chronological order are my complete works.
