The Bum's Rush tells the story of a boy who befriends an alchoholic bum and tries to reform him. Will he be succsessful? Or will he fail? The choice is up to you!
The Bum's Rush is printed out on a huge 23" x 28" canvas. As the normal photocopy machines won't fit paper this big, The Bum's Rush is actually three 11x17 sheets taped together. Choices are laid out graphically with the choice panels being symmetrical.
In terms of content, The Bum's Rush was inspired by the early films of Jackie Chan, most noticably "Snake in Eagle's Shadow". These stories always revloved around the relationship between a young innocent and a cagey old (and gross) master. The story was also going to appear in the center spread of the youth magazine YO! so I tried to make it about a relevent youth issue, namely alchoholism.
